28 champions list Ionia as a home region in Champlab's data, which makes it the largest of 16 regions. 19 are tied to Ionia alone; the other 9 also carry a second region, most often Bandle City (Kennen, Lulu and Rumble).

The earliest Ionia champions date from 2009 (2 of them were part of the 2009 launch roster), and the most recent addition is Yunara in 2025.
