Who is responsible for your data

Champlab is operated by Riupo AB, Eskilstuna, Sweden. Riupo AB is the data controller for the processing described on this page. See Contact for how to reach us.

The cookie we use: ld_consent

The only cookie this site sets is ld_consent. It stores a single value — accepted or declined — recording whether you agreed to have your game mode and stats remembered on this device. It is set for approximately one year and contains no personal information, just that one flag.

You can withdraw this at any time. Clicking the button below deletes the ld_consent cookie and clears the mode and stats data described below (for every game mode on this site) from this device — the same as clearing this site's cookies in your browser's own settings.

What's stored in your browser (not on our server)

If you accept the cookie above, a mode and a stats item per game mode — currently ld_mode / ld_stats for the champion-guessing game and ld_quote_mode / ld_quote_stats for the voice-line guessing game — are saved using your browser's localStorage. Each stores your chosen difficulty and your streak, solved/lost counts and personal bests for that mode. This data lives only on your device. It is never transmitted to our server, and we have no way to see it. It stays until you clear it using the button above, or clear your browser's site data for champlab.net directly.

Anonymous, aggregated gameplay statistics

When you finish a round, we record three numbers to our database: the game mode, how many guesses it took (or the length of a win streak when it ends), and whether the round was won or lost. These are stored as running counts per mode — for example "14 people solved Gold in 3 guesses" — not as individual events tied to you.

There is no player ID, session ID, IP address, or any other identifier attached to these numbers, and no way for us to connect a given count back to a specific visitor. This data exists purely to power the "Top X%" stats shown in the game.

No accounts

Champlab has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. Beyond the cookie, local storage and anonymous counters described above, we do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal data through the game itself.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (Google tag / gtag.js) to understand how the site is used — things like page views, approximate location derived from IP address, and device/browser type. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (for example _ga) and processes this data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Hosting and server statistics (Cloudflare)

Champlab is hosted on Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare Workers). To deliver pages and protect the site against abuse, Cloudflare necessarily processes technical data about each request — your IP address, browser user agent and the URL requested — as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. We use Cloudflare's aggregated, cookieless traffic metrics (such as request counts per page) to keep the site running; they don't identify individual visitors. The anonymous gameplay counters described above are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database, and only contain the mode, guess count or streak length, and win/loss — never an IP address or identifier.

Advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

This site uses Google AdSense to serve advertising. AdSense may set cookies and use similar technology (including the Google advertising ID) to serve ads, measure how they perform, and — where permitted — personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google acts as an independent controller for this processing; see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services for details. Where you have consented, ads may be personalized based on your interests; otherwise Google shows non-personalized ads, which use only contextual information such as the page you're on, but may still use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.

You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at optout.aboutads.info or, in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu.

If you're visiting from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, ad and analytics cookies described above are off by default. They only turn on if you respond to a consent choice shown by Google's consent tool; until then, no ad or analytics storage is set for you (technically: Google Consent Mode, with ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage all denied until you choose).

Your rights under GDPR

Since Riupo AB is based in Sweden, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies. Where we hold data that identifies you — which, per the above, is limited to what's in your own browser's cookie and local storage — you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export it, and to object to its processing. Because that data lives entirely on your device, you can already exercise most of these rights yourself using the "Delete my cookies" button above, or by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for champlab.net.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Sweden's data protection authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY). For any other request, reach us via Contact.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
