What is Champlab?

Champlab is a free, unlimited League of Legends guessing game. Every round picks one of the 173 champions at random, and you find it by guessing other champions and reading the clues. There's no daily limit and no account — when you solve one, the next round starts straight away, so you can play one quick round between queues or grind a streak for an hour.

How a round works

Type a champion's name and pick it from the list. Champlab compares your guess with the hidden answer across seven columns: gender, position, species, resource, range type, region and release year. Each cell turns green for an exact match, yellow for a partial one, and red for no match. Positions, species, ranges and regions can hold more than one value, so yellow there means you share at least one — Wukong (Top, Jungle) against a pure jungler lights up yellow. The year cell goes yellow within two years and shows an arrow toward the right one. Use each row to cut the pool until only one champion fits.

Game modes

  • Impossible — one guess. Pure luck plus instinct.
  • Challenger — five guesses. Every guess has to eliminate a lot.
  • Gold — eight guesses. Room to recover from a bad opener.
  • Noob — unlimited guesses and no loss screen; good for learning the roster.

Each mode tracks its own streak, win rate and fewest-guesses record, and when you win Champlab tells you how your result ranks against every round other players have finished in the same mode. Prefer ears to spreadsheets? The Quote game gives you a single voice line instead of a clue grid.

Get better at it

The full rules explain every column and edge case. The strategy guide ranks the best opening guesses, computed by running the game's own comparison logic over the whole roster, and walks through example solves. When a champion stumps you, look them up in the champion list — sorted by position, region, species and release year. Questions about the data, like why a champion is listed in two roles, are answered in the FAQ.
