Support Champions

40 champions list Support among their positions — 23% of the roster, making it the 4th most common of the five roles. 20 are listed for Support only, while 20 are flex picks that also appear elsewhere, most often in Mid (15) and Top (5).

15 of the 40 list melee range and 25 ranged. 39 of 40 use Mana; the exceptions are Shen (Energy). The pool draws most heavily on Ionia (6) and Demacia (5), and after Human the most common species is Aspect (4).

Support has grown as a share of new releases: 22% of champions released from 2009 to 2012 list it, against 26% of those released since 2019. The most recent additions are Mel (2025), Hwei (2023), Milio (2023) and Renata Glasc (2022).

In Champlab, positions are a multi-value column. A guess goes green only when its position list matches the answer's exactly, and yellow when the two share at least one role. A pure Support guess that comes back yellow therefore tells you the answer is a flex pick that includes Support. Heimerdinger (Mid, Top, Support) covers three roles, which makes it an unusually wide probe. The best first guess among Support champions is Brand, ranked 1st of 173 on the strategy page, leaving 2.2 candidates on average — one of the strongest first guesses in the whole game.
