Champions from Runeterra

13 champions list Runeterra as a home region in Champlab's data, which makes it the 7th largest of 16 regions. 9 are tied to Runeterra alone; the other 4 also carry a second region, most often Bilgewater (Tahm Kench).

The earliest Runeterra champions date from 2009 (7 of them were part of the 2009 launch roster), and the most recent additions are Bard, Kindred and Tahm Kench in 2015. The median release year is 2009, against 2011 for the whole roster, so Runeterra's cast skews older than average, with none released since 2019.

By role, Runeterra leans Jungle (6 of 13, or 46% versus 29% across all champions). 3 are Human (23% against 53% roster-wide), and the most common non-human species is Demon (5). 54% list melee range, compared with 55% overall. 12 of 13 use Mana; the exceptions are Aatrox (Blood Well).

In Champlab a region cell goes yellow when your guess shares at least one region with the answer but the lists aren't identical. Aatrox (Runeterra, Shurima) is the most efficient Runeterra probe, because one guess tests 2 regions at once. The best first guess among Runeterra champions is Brand, ranked 1st of 173 on the strategy page, leaving 2.2 candidates on average — one of the strongest first guesses in the whole game.
