Darkin Champions

5 champions are classed as Darkin — 3% of the 173-champion roster and the joint 8th most common of 34 species tags. 1 of them carry a second tag as well: Kayn (Human / Darkin).

They are spread over 5 regions, most often Shurima (4) and Ionia (2). The oldest Darkin champion is Varus from 2012, and the newest is Zaahen from 2025; the median release year is 2017.

On the Rift, Darkin champions most often play Jungle (3), followed by Top (2). 4 list melee and 1 ranged — a clearly melee-heavy group. 4 of 5 use Mana; the exceptions are Aatrox (Blood Well).

The Champlab species column works like positions and regions: green means your guess has exactly the same species tags as the answer, yellow means at least one tag is shared. A dual-tagged guess such as Kayn tests two species in one go. The best first guess among Darkin champions is Kayn, ranked 72nd of 173 on the strategy page, leaving 4.3 candidates on average — a middling opener.
